Mr. Peet's Third Grade Class
Welcome to Mr. Peet's Third Grade Website. I am in my 52nd year of teaching at Kingston, and I am loving it more every year. I graduated from Michigan State University. I also earned my masters degree from Central Michigan University. I am so thankful that I have been allowed to work with the youth of Kingston. I have been blessed to have so many former students, friends, and relatives contact me this past summer. I appreciate those of you who came to watch SVSU honor me as a Hero in Education. I would like to thank everyone who voted for me to win the Golden Apple Award. I felt that I was done earning awards so it was very rewarding to me. When I was awarded Tuscola County Teacher of the Year in 1990 I was honored, but this award came from my students over a 45 year period. I want all of my students, past and present, to know how very much you mean to me.
I have been married to my lovely wife Trudy for 52 years. I enjoy reading, gardening and running. I am currently studying, and using the Whole Brain Teaching program. The students have responded very well over the last three years to the new program. They showed improvements in both academics and behavior.
We have a program at Kingston Elementary where the whole class can earn a reward for showing excellence by the whole class. When a class does this they earn a "Class Pass". When a class earns five class passes they earn an extra recess. With fifteen class passes they earn an ice cream treat. The class will have a pizza party when they earn twenty-five class passes. When they reach thirty-five class passes they earn a fruit party. Last year's class earned 70 Class Passes. They did a terrific job! I am challenging this years class to work hard and become the all-time leader in Class Passes.
I want the 2020-2021 class to do their very best so that they make themselves, their parents, and Kingston proud of them.
